CO2Meter joins with the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) to support children's literacy
Each year GAWDA chooses a charity to donate time and resources to in support of the local community that is hosting that years GAWDA Annual Conference – they call this program “GAWDA Gives Back”. The conference location and charities change every year so that GAWDA and its members can support different charities around the US.
2021 will see the GAWDA Annual Conference hosted in Colorado Springs, CO. GAWDA President Abydee Butler Moore and her husband have chosen the Children’s Literacy Center of Colorado Springs as this year's “GAWDA Gives Back” charity. The CLC focuses on “life success through a foundation of literacy”.
GAWDA and its members are working this year to support CLC with a book drive. Whether you loved Dr. Seuss or Richard Scary or Diary of a Wimpy Kid, we all had our favorite books as a child. The CLC wants to give every child the opportunity to have those same magical reading moments we did.
CO2Meter is committing to support this effort too.
From September 1 through September 27 CO2Meter is hosting a book drive to support GAWDA Gives Back. We are encouraging our employees to bring in new or used children’s books for readers ages 2-12 that we can donate to the CLC.
GAWDA is even asking people to write notes of encouragement inside the books so that the kids that receive your books have your personal note forever.
The last week of September we will box up all the books we collect and ship them to GAWDA’s Annual Conference to demonstrate CO2Meter’s commitment to GAWDA and children's education.
