Indoor Air Quality for Homes, Offices, and Classrooms

Benefits of Improving Indoor Air Quality with CO2 Monitors:

Did you know that the average individual spends 90% of their time indoors? With so much time indoors, it's important to start thinking about the air we breathe.

The EPA reports that our indoor air can be anywhere from 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. These are the numbers we want to improve.

Get to know the air you breathe! Here are 3 benefits to improving indoor air quality with CO2 monitoring:

  1. Occupant ComfortBy utilizing an indoor air quality monitor, you can eliminate potential contaminants that directly influence poor IAQ. This includes CO2, CO, and particulate matter (PM2.5/10).
  2. Increase in Productivity - Studies have shown, that with less CO2 buildup many people find that they gain back productivity, focus, and energy - three main areas where poor indoor air quality often influences.
  3. Energy Efficiency - Utilizing CO2 monitors or CO2 air quality sensors when occupying space can provide you with proper ventilation indicators, making energy costs significantly lower!

What are unsafe indoor CO2 levels?

The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) notes anywhere below 1,000ppm as a generally acceptable level. However, some programs like LEED certification systems recommend a maximum CO2 level of 700 ppm above outdoor levels as part of their criteria.

How do you monitor indoor air quality?

By measuring CO2 levels you can regulate the airflow according to your industry needs.

The ASHRAE/USGBC standard sets the normal expectation for indoor CO2 levels at 400-600ppm, slightly above the normal levels in outdoor air (400ppm). Click here, to view the CO2 level recommendations chart

There are many indoor air quality monitors available on the market, including the CO2, Temp, and Relative Humidity Monitor.
